Seasonal Transitions
Happy first day of Fall!
This season is all about transition. It's an opportunity to begin again and bring new energy and space into your life. We just bought a new house and are literally creating new space... along with so many messy piles to sort, pack, purge, and clean.
I'll be back in the kitchen once all of these moving parts begin to settle. Until then, here are a few ideas to stay grounded this time of year:
Nourish your body with warm, hearty meals. Also, enjoy foods that are naturally sweet and sour. Avoid bitter and astringent tastes and avoid raw foods.
Stick with light exercise that enhances flexibility and balance. Long walks, bike rides, and gentle styles of yoga. Incorporate meditation into your practice.
Get a massage... and then get another one.
Avoid things that are cold - drinks, food, body temperature.
Change can often feel erratic, so it's important to balance all of the moving parts with moments of stillness. Stick to a regular schedule - get to bed early, don't skip meals, and get in as many hugs as you can.
Be well!
